French Immersion Summer Camp
Join the fun at Smith Street Maternelle this summer! Our weekly summer sessions immerse the children in French through play, art, music, storytelling, and science experiments. Summer Camp is open to all levels of language learners and is adapted for beginners as well as fluent speakers.
The objective of the summer sessions is to have as much fun as possible while absorbing new vocabulary and concepts and exploring new forms of creative expression. Each session is run by bilingual educators with years of experience in dual language classrooms with many different levels of French comprehension and expression.
The program runs on a weekly basis, with new activities each week based around a theme. Campers are welcome to come for one, two, or even all six weeks!

How many teachers are in each classroom?
All classes have 2 teachers at all times. Lead Teachers are native French speakers and have advanced degrees in Education. Assistant teachers are native or fluent French speakers and have Bachelor’s Degrees.
How many students in the summer camp are native French speakers?
Typically, about 50% of the students in each class speak French at home. 25% have had some exposure to the language, and the remaining 25% are English speakers with no French exposure yet.
